Guitar Festival

                                   INTERNATIONAL GUITAR DAYS OF  LAFKOS

Every July since 2007 in Lafkos, one wonderful and traditional village of the very beautiful and famous Pilion Mountain, The Cultural Club of Lafkos "The Action" organizes a guitar festival to honor the memory of the great guitarist Dimitris Fampas who was born there. This important Guitar Event is being supported by EKPOL, the Guitar Friends Association "Dimitris Fampas", the newspaper Taxydromos, OPAP, SAVAREZ, Kehaides music shop, and many other people and local sponsors.

       Artistic Director of the festival is the Professor  Eva Fampas.

  The 3 previous editions of the Lafkos International Guitar Days were very successful. Among the activities of the festival were lots of concerts, recitals by exceptional artists, lectures, exhibitions and many more unforgettable musical events.

During the festival it is also held the annual  "Eva Fampas master class", a guitar workshop open to all students, teachers and guitar fans. Chosen talented guitarists participants of the workshop perform officially in the final concert of the festival, as a Gala concert ! winning prizes and diplomas given by the Guitar Friends Association "Dimitris Fampas" and the SAVAREZ guitar strings.

 The activities of the festival are taking place at the Cultural Centre of the club and all the concerts at the wonderful gardens of the traditional houses of Lafkos and of Milina, another beautiful village which is near the sea .

  The list of the invited artists who have performed in the festival includes some very well-known guitarists and respected professors such as: Eric Franceries, Francesca Ghilione, Antonello Lixi, Carlos Dorado, Imre Bojtar, Milena & Valentin Valchev, Celia Linde, George Mavroedes, David Dyakov, David, Grimes, Evangelos Fampas, Klaudia Delmer, Graviton ensemble, Kostas Tseregof, Fotis Baxes, Ioanna Polyzoe, Guitar Orchestra from Kjustendil - Ivan Andonov, Sokrates Mastrodimos, ensemble Artistico, Aggelos Agyranopoulos 

We are also very proud to have presented during the 2nd International Guitar Days of Lafkos an  exchibition organized by The BENAKI Museum of Athens - Historical Archives, concerning the life and work of DIMITRIS FAMPAS. "Dimitris Fampas, the pioneer and virtuoso guitarist"  

 All the festival activities are open to anyone interested in guitar and music and all concerts have a free entrance. For all those who would like to participate in the Eva Fampas' master class an advanced registration is needed.
